Meet Karin Mitchell, MA, ACC, NBC-HWC
My coaching partnership with you is based on deep respect for you and the difficulties that real change can present. My belief in the fundamental goodness of all people guides me in my work as your coach and I look forward to helping you co-create a life of your design, and in essence ‘Chart Your Course’ for a new way of being.
A Little About Me
Yoga takes you into the present moment. The only place where life exists.
In my life I have struggled with many health issues–from scoliosis and arthritis to chronic insomnia and digestive problems. Over the years, as I sought treatment, I realized that I needed to become the advocate for my own health. In doing so, I came to believe that much of healing comes from within. This is to say that “I know what’s right” for me, and that I have all the capabilities of finding my own answers. Instead of solely relying on guidance or advice from my doctors, I also needed to start paying attention to my own intuition. Intuition is a natural “knowing” that isn’t bound by logic, fear, or past experiences. Once I started listening to my intuition, I found I had greater control over my health and overall wellness. The empowerment that I now experience personally with my own health, ultimately led me to coaching.
Where It Led Me
Yoga takes you into the present moment. The only place where life exists.
Realizing my own innate sense of rightness has given me more control over all aspects of my life, including finding better work/life balance, improved management of stress and difficult situations, and greater satisfaction within my close relationships. I view all the things I’ve learned about myself as ‘Tools’ that help me live a more satisfying and balanced life.
And where I am now…
I love yoga, Pilates, paddle boarding, skiing, boating, eating, and laughing with friends. I seek to find joy in each day and constantly strive to be more present with the people in my life.
Credentials
I have additional training in working with Character Strengths (www.viacharacter.org), The Thinking Partnership (author Nancy Kline, Time to Think and More Time to Think), and Mindfulness Meditation.
