\"\"My dear friend Julie Dettor posted this on her FB page last year and told me this one was\u00a0for me. I recently read it again and knew I had to put it in a blog. This was written on\u00a0Mariposa Trust’s website<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“Sometimes in life, you find a special friend. Someone who changes your life just by being a\u00a0part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can’t stop. Someone who makes you\u00a0believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really\u00a0is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is forever friendship. When you’re\u00a0down and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirit and\u00a0makes that dark and empty world suddenly seem bright and full. Your forever friend gets\u00a0you through the hard times, the sad times and the confused times. If you turn and walk\u00a0away, your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and\u00a0cheers you on. Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to\u00a0be okay.”<\/p>\n

Author, speaker, and spirit-filled good guy, Neale Donald Walsh<\/a> (who wrote Conversations with\u00a0God<\/span><\/a>), would say that God’s purpose for us, in this life, is to touch other people’s lives and to\u00a0be touched by them. This passage speaks of this for me. Forever friends are a gift… a true\u00a0gift. Thank you Julie for reminding me, again, of what is really important and giving me this gift on December 2nd, 2018 (the day I originally wrote this post, despite the fact that I posted it here a few weeks later<\/em>).<\/p>\n

When I think for a second that my worries of this material life matter\u00a0more, then I revisit this quote and reflect on you and our friendship. This is the good stuff in\u00a0life. This is really what I want my life to be about.<\/p>\n
